THE TEAM DISCOVERS A SOCCER MOM’S HIDDEN PAST ON “BONES”TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, ON FOX
When a soccer mom gets blown up in her minivan, Brennan and Booth are on the case to figure out who would want to murder a seemingly innocent and inconspicuous suburbanite. Upon investigation, the team discovers that the mother, June, had been a member of the National Liberation Army, a group of young radicals from the 1970s, and that the FBI had been looking for her for nearly thirty years. When the team learns that June may have been on the verge of turning herself in for a violent crime she was involved in while part of the NLA, the motives for her murder become even more complicated. Meanwhile, Brennan visits her father (guest star Ryan O’Neal) in prison and questions his reasons for wanting to see her, and Booth lends his advice on the situation. HOUSE AUDITIONS POTENTIAL NEW TEAM MEMBERS AND TREATS A FEMALE ASTRONAUT WHO SEES WHAT SHE HEARS ON “HOUSE” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, ON FOX
House has relented in regard to interviewing potential team members, but he’s doing it his own way. He has called in all 40 applicants for the open spots on his team (including guest stars Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson, Anne Dudek and Edi Gathegi), each numbered individually by runners’ bibs, and puts them to the test in a Darwinian trial period. As he drills the fellows and arbitrarily fires some along the way, he is approached by a fighter pilot named Greta, a candidate for NASA’s astronaut training program. Greta suffers from a neurological disorder in which she is converting visual images to sound, or hearing with her eyes. Knowing that NASA would reject any possibility of her becoming an astronaut if they knew of her problem, Greta begs House to treat her in secret. Keeping her identity private, House takes the case to his fellowship candidates and pits them against one another to come up with an accurate diagnosis. Meanwhile, House is ruffled when he thinks he sees Cameron, Chase and Foreman in the hospital hallways in “The Right Stuff” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 2 (9:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Cavemen @ 7:00pm
Season Premier
They have been around since the dawn of time, survived the Ice Age and witnessed the evolution of the Homo sapiens, making them one of the world's oldest minorities. Keeping mostly to themselves over the millennia and living in remote communities, a small number of cavemen -- and cavewomen -- have been slowly migrating from these sub-societies and attempting to acclimate themselves to the Homo Sapien world. Needless to say, this has proven difficult.
Meet three cavemen who have successfully made the move to San Diego and are just trying to fit in. Joel is a sophisticated and intelligent man who has a beautiful girlfriend, a decent job and shares an apartment with his younger brother, Andy , and his best friend, Nick. Nick is wary of the Homo sapien world and feels like he's running away from his heritage. Andy, on the other hand, looks at this new world with his eyes wide open and is willing to take risks in order to learn and to live life to the fullest.
Nick questions Joel on many of his choices, including his girlfriend, Kate (Kaitlin Doubleday, The TV Set), a beautiful Homo sapien woman. The fact that Kate's eccentric mother, Leslie (Julie White, Tony Award winner for The Little Dog Laughed), owns Joel's condominium complex makes things even more complicated for the three roommates. Meanwhile, Kate's best friend, Thorne (Stephanie Lemelin), is intent on discovering the cavemen's wilder side.
Joel, Nick and Andy have to overcome prejudice from most of the Homo sapien world and the misconceptions that modern society has of its earliest ancestors. In order for these cavemen to survive in the 21st century, they must work together to render those misconceptions extinct. The series is based in part upon characters from the GEICO commercials by The Martin Agency. Cavemen was developed by Josh Gordon & Will Speck (directors of Blades of Glory) and Joe Lawson. Bill Martin & Mike Schiff (Grounded for Life, 3rd Rock from the Sun), Gordon & Speck, Daniel Rappaport (Office Space) & Guymon Casady serve as executive producers. Cavemen is from ABC Studios.
Carpoolers @ 7:30pm
Season Premier
Four guys who carpool to work every day come to savor their commute as the only safe time to commiserate about jobs, families - and secrets. Even though "what happens in the carpool stays in the carpool," they'll go beyond the boundaries of this fast-moving commuter confessional to get involved in each other's lives and develop friendships.Gracen (Fred Goss, ABC's Sons & Daughters) is the unofficial leader of the carpool pack. As a professional mediator, he thinks he's a problem solver, but more often he's a causer. He seeks fairness in an unfair world, and so finds himself in the middle of situations because he's compelled to be there. In the pilot, Gracen is stunned to learn that his wife makes more money than he does, which sets his resolve to assert his manly authority.Laird (Jerry O'Connell, Crossing Jordan) is Gracen's playboy dentist neighbor and best friend. He thinks his life is an unending quest for stories - and women. In the middle of a messy divorce, he allows himself to live a little and taunts the other carpoolers with the freedom of his near-single status. He would never admit that he secretly misses marriage. Laird constantly leads the carpoolers into adventures, but once there, he isn't sure what to do. Aubrey (Jerry Minor, Mr. Show) is a sweet but intense pushover at the bottom of the family food chain. The daily ride has become the only peaceful time in his life. Forty-five minutes, two times a day - he needs the carpool the most. Always quick to come to the carpoolers' aid, he believes in the brotherhood almost to a fault. Only the carpoolers know he's boiling inside, because "in the carpool lane, no one can hear you scream."Dougie (Tim Peper, The Guiding Light) is the eager newlywed. He doesn't know all the rules of the Carpooler Society, often breaks them, and has to have the ways of the world explained to him by his tribal elders, the three other carpoolers. He and his wife, Cindy, are the perfect modern couple, but as you get to know them, you start to see their cracks. Dougie is the guy who seems to have it all together, yet he's drawn to the carpoolers for a little excitement. The carpoolers will both instigate problems for Dougie and help him deal with the realities of life to come.Additional stars include Faith Ford (Hope and Faith) as Leila Brooker, Alison Munn (That '70s Show) as Cindy and comedian T. J. Miller (The Standard Deviants) as Marmaduke Brooker.Carpoolers is created and executive-produced by Bruce McCulloch (The Kids in the Hall). McCulloch also wrote the pilot. Boston Legal @ 9:00pm
Led by an Emmy Award-winning cast, Boston Legal returns for a fourth season to tell the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. Fast-paced and wildly comedic, the series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law.Back-to-back Emmy Award winners James Spader and William Shatner play Alan Shore and Denny Crane, unlikely kindred spirits among the brigade of high-priced litigators at Crane Poole & Schmidt. In addition, Shirley Schmidt (played by five-time Emmy winner Candice Bergen), a founding partner of the firm, continues to help bring order to the chaotic office. She keeps a vigilant eye on all, particularly on Denny Crane, with whom she shares a checkered past. To keep the quirky office staff in tow, Schmidt calls in senior partner Carl Sack (Emmy Award winner John Larroquette) to Boston from the New York offices. He is also keeping an eye on Crane, who considers Sack a worthy nemesis. Added to the mix are Jerry "Hands" Espenson, Shore's friend and fellow lawyer who suffers from Aspergers syndrome, and Clarence Bell (aka Clarice/Clevant/Oprah, portrayed by Gary Anthony Williams), who suffers from such an extreme case of social inadequacy and shyness that he can morph into a number of personalities at the drop of a hat. They continue to try cases while doing their best to fit in with the other members of the firm. Then there's Katie Lloyd (Tara Summers), fresh out of law school and eager to learn as she becomes a young associate of the Boston offices; Lorraine Weller (Saffron Burrows), a sexy, sophisticated litigator who once had a passionate affair with Shore, the chemistry of which still lingers and distracts; and Whitney Rome (Taraji P. Henson), a premiere though unconventional litigator from the New York office who transfers herself to C.P.& S. Boston.Boston Legal stars James Spader as Alan Shore, John Larroquette as Carl Sack, Christian Clemenson as Jerry Espenson, Gary Anthony Williams as Clarence/Clarice Bell, Tara Summers as Katie Lloyd, Saffron Burrows as Lorraine Weller, with Candice Bergen as Shirley Schmidt and William Shatner as Denny Crane.
