Principal Skinner ushers the students of Springfield Elementary into a new era of sneaking, snooping and snitching with the opening of the school’s CTU – Counter Truancy Unit – with Lisa heading up the operation. Homer is sent on a mission to dispose of a container of yogurt so far past its freshness date that it could be toxic, but the reeking yogurt falls into the wrong hands. Homer injures himself in a fall, and while in the hospital he develops the ability to sing in a beautiful, operatic voice whenever he is lying on his back. Mr. Burns overhears Homer during one of his singing sessions at the hospital and immediately hires him to sing the lead in his production of “La Bohème.” Although Homer has to lie down during the performance, he wows the crowd at the Springfield Opera House. Homer becomes an enormous celebrity, especially with the ladies – much to Marge’s chagrin. While running from a mob of crazed fans, Homer is saved by a mysterious woman named Julia (Maya Rudolph), who turns out to be a little too concerned for Homer’s wellbeing in the “Homer of Seville” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Sept. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Extreme Makeover Home Edition @ 7:00pm
Season Premier Tonight
Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The show has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program, plus the People's Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show/Makeover and the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program.
For Season Five, the show will open in Hawaii and travel all across America to visit states it's never been to in continuing family builds in all 50 states over two seasons. There's nowhere Extreme Makeover: Home Edition won't go to help a family in need. This season expect to see more extreme homes, the latest in extreme technology -- highlighted by an all "green" build in Arizona -- and families with more immediate need for a home than ever before. In addition, there will be a green element on every episode this season, with eco-friendly, low energy and recyclable sources being incorporated into the builds.
Each episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house -- every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping.
The lives of the lucky families are forever changed when they learn that they've been selected to have their home walls moved, their floors replaced and even their facades radically changed. The result should be a decorator's delight...if it can be done in time.
